The contractors Hegeman Bouw Chemie B.V. / V.D.S. Staal en Machinebouw B.V. have begun to unwrap and remove all scaffolding from the southern tower and connected bridge from the Koningshavenbrug (The Hef) in Rotterdam. The southern part of the bridge has been abrasive blast cleaned and repainted.
The topside of the northern tower of the Hef has been unwrapped and all scaffolding has been removed. Van Ginkel Groep is working on the last “major” abrasive blast cleaning activities on the northern connected bridge of the Hef. They are using Eurogrit aluminium silicate (coal slag abrasive) after which the bridge will be painted.
